A buyer commissioned me to make this tail for them last month. They had luxurious ebony fur wasting in their closet and nobody to make a tail for them - so they contacted me as they were aware I had some sewing skill and good at adapting projects.

I've never done anything like it before. In theory, the idea was simple - but making it was rather complex, not to mention time consuming. It had to be hand-sewed, with a special light-weight core to mimic bone, yet stay silent and sturdy when shifting about.

The buyer contacted me recently to say they were more than satisfied with it. In return, they let me keep the extra fur they sent over. Fantastic.

I'm now happy to say I'm comfortable with making more tails like these. The tail pictured above is over 5' long and at most 3 pounds in weight. Though it's difficult to see in the picture, the base of the tail (bottom) has a special 3-inch loop where a belt can fit in. Subtle and efficient.

I'm in the process of working out a method to make another pose-able tail of this type but modified so that it can hold a pose on its own.

I can make much shorter tails of the type shown in the picture but I am currently limited to a few colors until I can order some more colors. Once I get more fur, I can try to make larger/fluffier/curved ones such as fox tails though I need more practice with this method.

If there's interest, I may make these as a hobby and sell on etsy. They are very slow going (hand sewn) but are lovely to behold. I'm not a furry-type but even I want one for myself to cuddle with. For now I'll keep commissions of this type to Notes, so contact me if you're interested.

Price for a solid colour, faux-bone interior, 5-6' tail is about $90 Cdn. The same thing at about half size (2' - 3') is around $50 Cdn. Shipping not included. Currently I'm selling only in Canada. Prices can be negotiated depending on width, length, colors, etc.
